Victorian 18K ring with a beautiful solitaire Rose Cut diamond that is 4 mm in diameter. With rose cut diamonds, the top is the only part that has facets. The stone is set inside a "buttercup" style white gold setting with 8 prongs. This handmade, one-of-a-kind ring and diamond are well over 100 years old, but it shows very light wear and is in very good to excellent condition for its age.
The diamond has a carbon spot, one tiny chip on a facet and feather inclusions. My old time bench jeweler said it was the most unusual diamond ring he had ever seen. It is a great addition to an antique diamond collection.
