30"x79" Antique Victorian Interior Door w/5 Raised Panels. Antique door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The door is made of either solid Douglas Fir or pine and has a traditional, Victorian style, 5-panel arrangement with 4 vertical panels divided by a small horizontal panel. The panels are raised on both sides. When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood.

New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. Hardware : The door is not equipped with any hardware. The door's width was unevenly cut by 3/8 at some point, most likely to compensate for the home's settling foundation or a warped floor.

Considering that the door is over 100 years old, it's in good shape. It has nicks, scrapes, and scratches.

However, after some sanding and filling with wood putty, most of the cosmetic blemishes will be removed, and once stained or painted, they will either be invisible or barely noticeable. One of the upper panels shifted out of place and there is a tiny gap (see 2nd to last photo). The panel is tight and won't move back and place without tools. The upper corner in the last photo had some superficial water damage which we sanded off.

There is nothing wrong with it and we took a close up photo to show you. The door is strong, sturdy, and ready for another lifetime of service. We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. Swing : The door is set up to swing inwardly towards the left.

Modification : We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace wooden panels with glass, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc.
